The company has been promoted by Technocrates having over 30 years experience in various aspects of Cable Market. The Promoters have practical Administrative and Management experience in Production, Quality Control and Marketing Cables. 


  ALCON WIRES & CABLES INDUSTRIES is manufacturing LT Cables with PVC or XLPE insulation of voltage grade upto 1.1 KV conforming to various Indian and International standard Specifications. ALCON also manufatures other types listed at the end of this catalogue.
  XLPE means cross-linked polyethylene or vulcanize polyethylene. The basic material is low density polyethylene. Polyethyleneis a thermoplastic material consisting of long chain of hydrocarbon molecules. At elevated temperatures theses molecules tend to more relataive to one another so that mataerial becomes increasingly deformable and will eventually melt at temperature around 1100C.
  By means of process simular to the vulcanization of rubber, the polyethylene molecules can be cross-linked. The process of cross-linking or vulcanization consist of producing chemical bonds at interval between the long molecular chain to give "ladder" effect which prevents slippage between molecules. As a result of cross-linking the material becomes heat resistanta and does not soften at higher temperatures. Further it has better resistance to stress cracking and good resistance to ageing in hot air with the change of structure there is no adverse effect on electrical properties.
